TALLAHASSEE, FL - Nathaniel Whitfield, a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, in his hometown of Tallahassee, Florida, at the age of 67.

Born on November 15, 1957, in Tallahassee, Nathaniel was known for his quiet nature, unwavering kindness, and deep love for his family. For those who knew him, he also had a great sense of humor and was known for being comical and lighthearted.

Nathaniel attended Amos P. Godby High School and began his career at Helms, where he worked for many years as an exterminator. He had a passion for sports cars and was a devoted member of Greater Mt. Zion Church, where his faith was a guiding force in his life.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Priscilla B. Whitfield; his loving children, Carla (Stephen) Whitfield-Fields, Shoana P. Whitfield, Nicole L. Green, Nathaniel (Rachel) Briggs, Michaile A. Briggs, and Monique (Alvin) Speights; his siblings, Barbara (Preston) Simmons, Debra (Bernard) Moore, Charles D. Whitfield, Phyllis E. Evans, and Austin (Sylvia) Whitfield; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for the warmth he shared and the legacy he leaves behind.

A memorial service to honor Nathaniel's life and memory will be Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Strong & Jones Funeral Home Inc.
