Neil R. Bodendorfer
November 2, 1938 – June 8, 2023
Passed away peacefully at the age of 84.
Loving husband of Nancy E Bodendorfer (nee Hahn) for 62 years. Devoted father of Todd (Leeann) Bodendorfer, Jim (Julie) Bodendorfer, Dan (Rochelle) Bodendorfer and Jill (David) Kurtz. Proud grandfather of Laura (Steve) Ozminkowski, Stephanie Bodendorfer, Jeff (Stephanie) Bodendorfer, Alec Bodendorfer, Austin Bodendorfer, Ryan Kurtz and Maddie Kurtz. Great grandfather of Colton and Carson Ozminkowski, Ava Stegall, Evelyn and Olivia Bodendorfer and soon-to-be baby Bodendorfer.
Neil was born and raised in Mequon, Wisconsin where he spent his working years serving the community as a banker at Thiensville State Bank. He enjoyed golf, baseball, swimming and spending time with his family. He graduated from Shorewood High School in 1956 and was a member of the high school baseball team. Right after high school, he spent several years serving in the Army Reserves.
Neil was knows as a friendly, outgoing people person who had conversations with everyone he met, whether he knew them or not. His focus was his family and his faith.
A memorial service is planned for Friday, June 23, 2023 at Christ Alone (South Campus) located at 10001 North Cedarburg Road, Mequon, Wisconsin with visitation from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM with a service immediately following. After the service, his remains will be buried at Christ Alone Cemetery directly across from the church. Following the burial, a luncheon will be served at the church fellowship hall.
