Neil Albert Brown

Neil Albert Brown, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, 78, peacefully left this world with his beloved wife and daughter by his side on January 29, 2025. Neil fought through several health issues in his later years including congestive heart failure, macular degeneration, lupus and myelodysplasia. He never let these medical issues stop him from doing the things he loved.
Neil was born on January 15, 1947, in Salina, Utah to Marion Alonzo Brown and Melda DeLeeuw Brown. He was raised in Loa, UT. Neil attended school through 8th grade in Wayne County. Neil knew early on that he was going to do things the way HE wanted and didn't have time for school or church. Instead, he found joy in helping on the family farm and running cattle from Sheep Valley through the desert in Hanksville.
In 1965 Neil joined the Army National Guard and served our country until 1971 at which point he came North and worked for Provo City.
Neil met the love of his life, Brenda Warenski on Mother's Day in May of 1978. Neil and Brenda were married September 29, 1978.
Neil drove truck from California to Canada the first few years of the marriage. After that he went to work with his father-in-law at Utah Valley Transit driving tour groups to destinations like Disneyland and Yellowstone.
In 1984 after many years of trying and IVF, Neil and Brenda welcomed their long-awaited daughter, Tiffany Brown, into this world. Tiffany was a daddy's girl from the minute she was born, and Neil did everything he could to make sure his family was taken care of.
Neil started his own trucking business in 1987 and drove to the lower 48 states during this time. During the summers. Neil would take Brenda and Tiffany with him on the road. Many memories were made on these trips, but most of all, "COME ON, HURRY UP, YOU'RE BURNING DAYLIGHT" was a phrase that Tiffany (and anyone else who went with him on the truck) learned real quick! Neil loved teaching his nephew's how to drive truck and teaching them all the ropes.
Neil started in the excavation and construction business in 1999 so he could be home every night with his family. He loved operating the backhoe and water truck. Neil was a prankster and never gave up an opportunity to make his coworkers and friends laugh.
If you knew Neil for more than an hour, you were guaranteed to have a nickname from him. His first and only
grandson had a nickname before he was even born. Neil had two grandchildren, Bradyn Street born in 2005 and Shaylee Street born in 2006. Neil loved and supported his grandchildren in everything they did from baseball and football games to traveling the rodeo scene for his granddaughters College rodeo. Even in declining health, Neil didn't let anything stop him from being there for his family and those he loved.
Neil made it to all 50 states after taking his grandson on a fishing trip to Alaska in 2021 and then his granddaughter on a cruise through Hawaii in 2024. This was an accomplishment that he was so proud of and would tell everyone he met about it.
Neil fought hard for the last few days of his life, but his body was just worn out and it was time for him to finally rest and relax. There is a huge hole left in all of our hearts, but we can rejoice in knowing he is finally free from this earthly pain.
The family would like to thank all of the Dr.'s and nurses that cared for Neil in the last few years of his life, especially Dr. Gregory Chipman, who Neil looked up to and took his advice to heart.
Neil is survived by his wife, Brenda Brown, his daughter Tiffany (Mickey) Street, his grandchildren Bradyn and Shaylee Street, His Sister's Gladys Miller and Evelyn (Dan) Nielson and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister baby Maxine, his brother's Boyd Brown and Marion Brown.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Timpanogos Park 3 Ward Chapel, located at 1000 North Main Street Orem, Utah. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Timpanogos Park 3 Ward Chapel and also at an additional viewing on Saturday morning at the church from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services. Interment will follow the services at Mapleton Cemetery, 620 West Maple Street, Mapleton, Utah.
