Nelda Faye "Nell" Jones, aged 84, of Walker, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025. Born on January 8,1941, in the quaint town of Frost, Louisiana, Nell carried the warmth and grace of her era throughout her life.
Nell was a woman of Christian faith, which guided her through the many seasons of her life. Her spirit was a beacon of light and comfort to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, as she gracefully navigated the world after the passing of her cherished husbands, Jesse Berthelot and RV Jones. She was a loving mother and grandmother and leaves behind her sons—Dale, Craig, Mike, Darrell, and RV Jr.— 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She taught us all the values of kindness and perseverance. Her presence was a source of joy and her ability to find happiness in the simplest of things was a lesson she unwittingly taught to all who were lucky enough to cross her path.
Nell's interests painted the picture of a simple, well-lived and thoroughly enjoyed life. She attended many bluegrass festivals where she would be seen enjoying the beautiful music and chatting with friends. Her love for treasure hunting at garage sales was unmatched and she was rarely seen with out a refreshing Coke in her hand—a small pleasure that brought her great delight.
As we bid farewell to Nell, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the time we were granted with her. It is with these memories that we find comfort, knowing that her spirit will continue to guide us in the days to come.
Nelda Faye "Nell" Jones will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her compassionate soul. Her journey on earth may have ended, but her story will live on through the lives of her sons and grandchildren and the countless memories shared with those who loved her.
In the stillness that follows Nell's departure, we are reminded to cherish each moment, to embrace joy in the simple things, and to live a life that would make her proud. Farewell, Nell, until we meet again.
