ADRIAN – Nelda Ruth Zink, 95, of Palmyra, passed peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Brookdale Senior Living in Adrian. She was born on December 6, 1930, in Adrian, to Carl and Elsie Bahs. She graduated from Adrian High School. On June 14, 1953, she married Marlin Zink and celebrated 62 years of marriage before he passed away in 2015.
Nelda embraced her role as a homemaker with great pride, cooking and baking wonderful meals for family and friends. She took care of canning and preserving the produce from their family garden and was an expert seamstress as well. As a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, she was active in bible studies, choir and service to the community through the church. She was employed by A&P Store for many years.
Nelda is survived by her daughter Shirley of Manchester, MI; son, Dennis (Diane) Zink of Hollidaysburg, PA; daughter-in-law, Helena Zink of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Emma Zink, Maggie (Jeremy) Svitana, and Christopher Marston; great-grandchildren Claire, Owen and Lila Svitana, Tessa Holbrook; a niece, Shelly (Mike) of Hudson, nephews, Allen (Beth) Zink of Mason, OH and Carl(Nancy Bahs) of Marietta, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin; son, Gary Zink; and two brothers, Donald Bahs and Lorain Bahs.
Memorial services will be held at St John's Lutheran Church in Adrian on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Joel Sarrault officiating. She will be laid to rest alongside her late husband in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Adrian at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. John's Lutheran Church, 3448 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian MI 49221.
Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
