It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nell Dycus, aged 99, who left this world peacefully on March 12, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas. Born on July 20, 1925, in Ralls, Texas, Nell lived a life filled with love, family, and unwavering dedication to her role as a wife and mother. She married the love of her life, Gene Dycus on August 1,1942.
Nell was a cherished homemaker, whose warm spirit and gentle demeanor touched the hearts of those around her. Her home was a haven of kindness and comfort, where her daughters, Sandra and Becky, grew up surrounded by the nurturing love of their mother. She was a faithful member of the Parkway Church of Christ.
Nell's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Kim Palk, Sheri Jacobsen, and Clayton Thompson, who carry forward the values of compassion and resilience that she instilled in them. She was blessed to have 6 great grandchildren, Tyler and Kara Palk, Will and Carter Jacobsen, and Brylee and Brynn Thompson. Her family was everything to her, and it is through their remembrance that her spirit will live on.
A celebration of Nell's life will be held Wednesday, March 19 at 10:00 am to honor her memory at Sanders Funeral Home Chapel. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18, 6:00-8:00 pm.
Nell will be laid to rest in a final act of love that mirrors her life - a life devoted to family and faith. While she may no longer be with us in body, her gentle spirit and the memories shared will continue to shine brightly in our hearts.
Nell was preceded in death by: her husband Gene, her daughter Sandra Bledsoe, her father and mother, her sister Catherine and two brothers Henry and Joe Bob.
