Ms. Nell Maulding, from Dallas, GA, fell asleep peacefully and joyfully awakened in the presence of Jesus Christ on May 24th at age 92.
She was born on January 7th, 1932, in Dallas, GA, to Mr. Thomas Hitchcock and Mrs. Etta (Hembree) Hitchcock as the youngest of seven children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Maulding; her youngest son, Charles (Chuck) Maulding; her brothers, Euel Hitchcock, Bruce Hitchcock, and Ray Hitchcock; her sisters, Ethel Daniel, Elsie Brannon, and Marion Postell.
Everyone knew Nell as an outgoing person with many friends. She loved Jesus, shared His good news, and loved her family. She enjoyed playing her piano and organ, singing in the church choir, and being a greeter at church along with her husband.
For many years, she found great satisfaction and a sense of purpose in her work as an executive secretary at Lockheed in Marietta, GA. She also had a wonderful time playing the piano at an assisted living facility when another church member preached.
She is survived by her son, Mark Maulding, wife Ellen, and their children, Andrew, Ben, Bekah, and Christopher Maulding; her daughter-in-law, Cecelia Medford, and her children, Mrs. Brooke Banko, husband John, Chuck Maulding, and David Maulding; and her great-grandchildren, Aubrie Banko, Maya Banko, Marlee Maulding, Charlie Maulding, and Melanie Maulding.
Visitation for Ms. Nell Maulding, a time to remember and honor her, will be at 1:00 on Saturday, June 1st, at Benson Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service, a time to celebrate her life and legacy, will be at 3:00 in the chapel. After the service, she will be laid to rest at Smyrna Methodist Church, 9199 Buchanan Hwy, Dallas, GA.
