Neta Collamore of Norman, Oklahoma, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on March 6, 2022, at the age of 97. Neta was born in Lipscomb County, Texas, to Harry William and Pearl Alice McNulty on April 4, 1924. Neta spent her formative years in North OKC attending Putnam City schools, graduating with the Class of 1941. She had a long and rewarding professional career working for a variety of organizations, including Will Rogers, the Oklahoma City public school system at Lee Elementary, Jefferson Junior High, and John Marshall High School, and later, as a Dietician with the Board of Education. She eventually went to work at Tinker Air Force Base in distribution and supply, retiring as an office manager after more than twenty years of dedicated service.
Neta was a warm, loving person with a kind and giving heart. Her faith was incredibly important to her throughout her life. She was a longtime member of the Prairie Queen Baptist Church, which later became Southwood Baptist Church. Later in life, Neta became an active member of the First Moore Baptist Church, where she made many lifelong friends. Neta loved to sing, and her children have fond memories of her singing along to her favorite Patsy Cline cassette tape that she always had cued up in the family car.
Neta was married to Charley for 45 years. They loved to square dance. The couple were members of the Round Up Square Dance Club, Charley being the President of the organization for many years. While raising four children, Neta and Charley toured all over the country with the club, creating an abundance of beautiful memories together. Neta loved traveling, and she took many memorable trips throughout her life to places like New York City, the Holy Lands in Israel, and an unforgettable Alaskan Cruise. She especially enjoyed trips with her sisters, Nola and Nota, to Hawaii, as well as their two-week road trip to Pennsylvania. She loved baseball and was an avid Texas Rangers fan. Her son, Phillip, fondly remembers taking his mother to Grand Junction, Colorado to see the NJCAA world series game in person. More than anything in life, Neta adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Neta was always very present in their lives, proudly attending all their ballgames, activities and school events as they were growing up. Her kindness touched the hearts of many during her life, and she will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charley Collamore, her father, Harry McNulty, and mother, Pearl McNulty (Capps), a son, Gary Collamore, six sisters, two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Left behind to cherish Neta's memory are her children, daughter Susan Spaulding and husband Monroe, and sons Phillip Collamore, and Chuck Collamore, all of Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, Craig Burns and wife Kim, and their children Arie, Hollis, and Carlin of Houston, Texas, Matthew Collamore and his children Keyla and Raylee of Oklahoma City, Kari Collamore of Moore, Oklahoma, Frank Collamore and wife Casie, and their children Cy and Bodi of Piedmont, Oklahoma, Adam Collamore and wife Caitlin, and their children Ella, Max, and Winston of Woodlands, Texas, Whitney Collamore of Oklahoma City, Richard Hasty of Oklahoma City, and Sarah Collamore and children Trey and Charlie; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
