Nicholas Adkins Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Nicholas Andrew Adkins (Lilley) was born on May 19, 1990, to Susan Lilley and Brian Adkins, in Wentzville, MO. He was followed a year later by his younger brother, Bradley, who would be his lifelong best friend and partner-in-crime. Nick unexpectedly passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Nick grew up in Troy, MO. He graduated high school in 2008, after making many lifelong friends during his time in school. At the time of his death, he was beginning to pursue higher education. During his time on earth, Nick tried his hand at many different jobs, from manufacturing to the service industry, often alongside his brother and his friends. What Nick did for a living is not what is important about him, though. The kind of person he was, is. Nick was easygoing and endlessly likable. His wicked sense of humor earned him many friends, and his steadfastness kept them lifelong. He is beloved by his family, who he teased especially his mom and Aunt Jenny. He could always find a smile for those who really needed it, whether they knew it or not. No matter what was going on in his day, he always made time to play with his niece and laugh with his cousins.
Nick's passions included the worlds he could build and explore. He loved to read, and play video games online with friends. He made friends as far away as Serbia doing so. He was most at home in the fantasy genre. He also had an appreciation for the technical side of things, building remote control cars and gaming computers with his brother. Nick had a deep knowledge of the things he was passionate about, and was always happy to delve into the details when discussing things like the lore of Middle-Earth, or Dragonball-Z. He was also a talented painter who paid the highest attention to detail on the figurines he customized. He would spend hours behind a magnifying glass, meticulously blending colors and trying different techniques to achieve the textures he wanted.

Nick is survived by his loving parents, Susan Lilley (Joe Balling ) of Foley, MO, and Brian Adkins of Foley, MO, grandfather, Gene Lilley, sister-in-law and niece, Annessa and Indie Lilley, aunts and uncles, Don and Vita Lilley, Dale and Rhonda Lilley, Clint and Tanja Lilley, Jennifer and Joe Bergjans, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Brad Lilley on April 10, 2024.
