Nicholas Maniatis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 7, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father Nicholas Christo Maniatis, who departed this life surrounded by his family on October 23rd in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Nick was well known for his outgoing personality, friendly demeanor and of course, his cherished sense of humor.
Nick was born in Pittsfield, MA on November 29, 1948, to Christo and Helen Maniatis. After graduating from Riverside Military Academy, Nick joined the US Navy, and was stationed in Dunoon, Scotland before eventually returning to Pittsfield. Nick worked as a driver at United Parcel Service for many years before retiring to Myrtle Beach in 2019. Nick was a gifted golfer and, together with his father, proudly won many tournaments at the Country Club of Pittsfield. He also found much joy cruising the waters of Onota Lake on his pontoon boat with his wife Janet, as well as family and friends. Nick could almost always be found excitedly scratching off lottery tickets with his car key but never hit that elusive big winner.
Nick is survived by his children Kristy Maniatis of Watertown, MA, Jennifer Maniatis Reiter of Swampscott, MA, Christopher Maniatis of West Hartford, CT and Kerry Patterson (John) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren Lily, Grace and Ella Reiter, Max, Lucy and Vega Maniatis and Carly and Jesse Patterson; his sister Kiki (Rob) Robinson, as well as many adoring nieces, nephews and cousins. Nick was predeceased by his beloved wife Janet, who sadly passed away earlier this year. Nick will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of being lovingly teased by and knowing him.
A private family remembrance will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church in his honor.
We take comfort in knowing that our dad's memory will forever remain in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
