Nicholas Joseph Oliver Jr. August 3, 1947 - September 4, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Nicholas Joseph Oliver Jr., who left our world on Thursday evening, September 4th, 2025. Born on August 3rd, 1947, in Damascus, Syria, Nicholas lived a remarkable life of 78 years filled with service, music, laughter, and unconditional love.
Nicholas is remembered by a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his predeceased wife Beverly (Corsaro) Oliver, survived by devoted daughter Renee and her husband David Sturm, his son Nicholas and his wife Rudayna Charrouf and youngest son Jonathan, his brothers Robert and Raymond, sister in law Denise (Corsaro) Geissler, his treasured grandchildren David, Emma, Gianna, and Lorenzo and several nieces and nephews. His legacy lives on through each of them, carrying forward the warmth and joy he brought to every occasion.
The son of Nicholas "Joe" Oliver (Zaytoun) and Shmoune "Mona" Fayad, raised in West Paterson NJ along with his siblings, Olga, Raymond, Paul, Barbarba & Robert. He was an alter boy at St Anns Church and growing up, an avid track, and baseball player. A Don Bosco graduate, he was interested in electronics and recived various certificates in this field of study. This interest contributed to his love of muisc and especially to the craft of making speakers from scratch. These speakers would eventually showcase themselves at his DJ shows. Nick was also an incredible pool player and bowler, eventually bowling (3) perfect 300 games in his regualr league nights throughout the years.
Nicholas was gifted with a heart that knew no stranger, a heart that welcomed everyone as family. His home was a sanctuary where doors were always open and the kitchen was always ready to serve. His generosity knew no bounds; whatever he had, he shared freely and joyfully. Whether offering a listening ear to someone in need, extending his table to unexpected guests, or simply sharing one of his legendary stories that could transform any gathering into a celebration His gift for storytelling was matched only by his infectious sense of humor. He had an uncanny ability to find joy in the simplest moments and share that joy with others, leaving everyone around him feeling uplifted and genuinely happy.
Nicholas's commitment to serving others extended far beyond his personal relationships into his professional life, where he proudly served his country and community for 35 distinguished years. His journey of service began with four years as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force, where he served with honor as SGT. AF12769057, RegAF where he exemplified courage and dedication under the most challenging circumstances.
His military service was recognized with the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and the Vietnam Service Bronze Star Medal-honors that reflected not just his technical skill, but his unwavering commitment to his fellow servicemen and his country. Nicholas was a true patriot who carried the values of service, honor, and sacrifice throughout his entire life.
Following his military service, Nicholas continued his dedication to public service for thirty-one years as a beloved postal worker with the Paterson and Stockholm Post Office. He approached this role with the same warmth and genuine care that defined his character, becoming not just a mail carrier, but a friendly face and source of connection for countless families in his community.
The Legend of Teen Angel While Nicholas was respected for his professional service, he was most beloved for bringing joy to thousands of lives as MC/DJ Teen Angel. For decades, he was the heartbeat of celebration throughout New Jersey and beyond, transforming ordinary occasions into extraordinary memories. His specialty in 50s & 60s DooWop, Motown, and Rock & Roll wasn't just about playing music-it was about bringing people together.
Whether hosting weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, retirement parties or fundraisers, Teen Angel had an unmatched ability to read a room and create exactly the atmosphere needed to make every moment special.
His legendary 4th of July and Christmas Eve parties became the hype of local legends-gatherings that people planned their years around, knowing they would experience something truly unforgettable. These weren't just parties; they were celebrations of life itself, filled with the perfect blend of great music, flavorful food, happy conversations, and the kind of pure joy that only Nicholas could orchestrate.
Nicholas understood that true wealth is measured not in material possessions, but in the number of lives touched, hearts warmed, and spirits lifted. His legacy is not just in the formal recognitions he received, but in the countless moments of joy he created for others.
He taught us that hospitality is an art form, that laughter is medicine, that service to others is the highest calling, and that every person has a story worth hearing. His life was a testament to the profound impact one person can have when they choose to live with an open heart, generous spirit, and unwavering commitment to bringing joy to others.
Teen Angel's music has stopped, but the melody of his life will continue to play in the hearts of all who knew him. His stories will be retold, his kindness remembered, and his legacy of love & service will continue to inspire us. LIFE IS BUT A DREAM !
