Nicholas Kenneth Olson

Nicholas Kenneth Olson, AMT2, Petty Officer Second Class, USCG. Born April 23rd, 1995 in Huntington, New York.
Nick, 29, passed unexpectedly in Parrish, Florida on February 1st, 2025. He moved to Sebastian, Florida at the age of one and later graduated from Sebastian River High School in 2013. He went on to earn his Associate in Arts from Indian River State College.
Nick enlisted in the United States Coast Guard on June 26, 2018 and graduated from Basic Training at Training Center Cape May, NJ on August 17th, 2018. He went on to serve on the USCG Cutter Narwhal in Corona Del Mar, CA. After graduating from Aviation Maintenance Technician "A" School, Nick reported for duty at the USCG Aviation Training Center in Mobile, AL where he completed his tour and went on to serve at USCG Air Station Clearwater, FL.
During Nick's service at USCG Aviation Training Center Mobile, he achieved the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class and earned his MH-60T Aircrew "wings". Throughout his career, Nick earned many Honors and Awards in recognition of his distinguished service, including; The Armed Forces Service Medal, The Department of Homeland Security Outstanding Unit Award, The Coast Guard Achievement Medal with Operational Distinguishing Device, and The Coast Guard Commandant Letter of Commendation.
Nick found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. Whether he was working on his beloved Mustang, going to the gym or cooking with his wife, Chloe; or spending time around the table playing games with friends and family, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm. His quality time with his wife during road trips brought him so much joy. Nick loved tackling DIY projects to make his house feel like home, but always found a way to include his wife, turning even solo tasks into moments that they could share together. He could always be counted on to enjoy life's little pleasures – especially a pack of Oreos.
Nick is survived by his wife, Chloe (nee Poehler) Olson and daughter, Penelope; Father, Alan; Mother, Robin (nee Miller) Giles; Stepdad, David Giles; Stepmom, Lori Nalls; his siblings, Alan (Briana), Mike (Kaitlin), Amanda (Justin Summers); nieces Sydney and Lily; and stepbrothers Devin and Dawson.
A loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Nick's passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him. His infectious smile and selflessness made everyone he met fall in love with him. His personality was once in a lifetime, and he is the best of what the world has to offer. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
