Nicholas Ryan VanHooser, 37, of Chandler, Indiana, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2022 at St. Vincent Medical Center surrounded by all his family and friends.
Nick was born in Evansville, Indiana on May 31, 1985 to Eric and Debbie (VanHooser) Stahl. He honorably served in the United States Army, working in military intelligence from 2004 until 2007. Nick was an avid softball player and enjoyed professional wrestling, fishing, and Pok mon. He loved sports and was a Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Above all, he loved his children and was a wonderful dad. Nick will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Nick is survived by his wife of 3 years, Nicole VanHooser of Chandler, IN; daughter, Madalyn VanHooser of Boonville, IN; sons, Alexander VanHooser of Evansville, IN and Mason Groenert of Boonville, IN; mother, Debbie (VanHooser) Stahl; father, Eric Stahl; sister, Brandi Stahl; brother, Jarrett Stahl; and grandparents, Donna Wring VanHooser and Joe VanHooser.
A celebration of Nick's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery where the Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, August 26, 2022 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 9:00 am until service time on Saturday.
