Nicholas Lewis Williams

Nicholas Lewis Williams, known to us warmly as Nick, was born on August 16, 1949, in Corning, NY. He resided in Corning, until his passing on March 12, 2025. A loving husband, a loyal father, and a compassionate friend, Nicholas touched the hearts of many with his thoughtful demeanor and unwavering commitment to family and faith.
Nicholas led an impressive career as the Photography Department Manager at the Corning Museum of Glass, where his passion for beauty and detail was reflected in his work. His talents, however, extended beyond his professional life. A keen interest in herpetology sparked many fascinating conversations, and his pottery and Maxfield Parrish collection were items he treasured dearly. Yet, what mattered most to Nicholas was his family and his deep involvement with St. Mary's Catholic Church. His devotion to these pillars of his life was the embodiment of his compassionate and loving nature.
Nicholas is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothea Williams; son, Curt (Julie) Hamann; daughter, Dana (Mark) McCarty; grandchildren, Bailey McCarty and Jack Hamann; and his best little friend, Zoe, his miniature schnauzer. He is preceded in death by his loving mother, Theresa Williams, and his father.
Calling hours for Nicholas will be held on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 2-4 pm at Haughey Funeral Home, Inc., 216 East 1st Street in Corning. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 9:30 am at St. Mary's Church, 155 State Street, Corning, NY, with Father Matthew Walter officiating.
