Nicholas Demetrios Katsanos
It is with a heavy heart we notify you of the passing of Nick, father to James Anthony Katsanos, who resides in Florida with his wife, Nicole and their children Michael and Christopher.
Nick was born on Long Island, New York in 1963, transplanting to Florida in his early twenties, then moving to the Charlotte NC area in the early 1990’s, where his maternal family lives.
His parents (predeceased) Demetrios Nicholas Katsanos and Maria Kostandino Katsanos hailed from the mountains of Agia Vlacherna, Karpenissi, Greece, coming to America in 1957.
Brother to Foteni Delongos (husband Nick (predeceased)), Dena (husband Andy), Gus (recently deceased) wife Christine)), Peter (wife Carrie), Helen (husband Kirk). Uncle to Strati, James, Maria, Demitria, Despina, grandniece Ava. Nephew, cousin, friend to many.
A special recognition to his friend Lori Evans, who was by his side thru his hardest times and final journey this past year, including the time of his passing.
Nick loved his dogs and would strike up conversations with anyone walking their dog. He had a competitition level involvement and love for darts. Many know he from PicNiks, a brunch restaurant in Mooresville, NC.
He had a knack for developing life-long friendships and saw the good in everyone he met.
