Nick S. Kyriakis

Nick Kyriakis passed away suddenly but peacefully last Saturday. A native San Franciscan and graduate of Balboa High, Nick worked as a lithographer for Hunt's and the American Can Company. Nick loved fishing, hot rods and drag racing; he, his wife Olga and the kids spent many weekends at Clear Lake. Nick's family is deeply rooted in the Greek-American community, and as a Greek-American, he had a deep relationship with the Greek Orthodox Church. As a San Franciscan, he loved everybody regardless of race, creed, color, sexual orientation or anything else; all were welcome at his frequent backyard barbeques where he mastered Greek cooking. His sense of humor, huge heart and love of life will be missed by all who knew him. Nick is survived by his loving wife, Olga Kyriakis, his daughter Sally Canjura-Clayton (Lisa) and was preceded in death by his son Salvador Canjura Jr. (Maria). He is also survived by his grandchildren Nick Canjura (Marci) and Salvador Canjura III (Kara), his grandchildren Katie, Nicholas, Taylor, Luciana, Matthew and Brian, his nephew Thomas Kyriakis (Zaf), their children Vicky and Teddy, niece Marina Fitzgerald (Joseph) and their children Joe and Casey, and sister-in-law Zoe Kyriakis. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 24th at 11 AM, at the Greek Orthodox Memorial Park Chapel, 1148 El Camino Real, Colma, CA. Flowers are not accepted in the cemetery chapel. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or the Mayo Clinic.
