Nicolas H. Arrieta

Nicolas "Nico" Hunter Arrieta, our sweet and beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend, entered into eternal life on March 5, 2025, in his family home in Fairacres, New Mexico. Nico was proud to be born and raised in the Mesilla Valley. He was the first of two beautiful children and loved being a brother to his younger sister. He attended Las Cruces High School and graduated from Rio Grande Preparatory Institute in 2015. He worked in both the restaurant and construction industries throughout his life. Nico grew up fishing and hunting with his dad, uncles, and cousins. He felt most at peace when he was in nature and with his family. Nico was a pursuer of simplicity and taught us that small moments of joy are what matter most. He was intelligent, articulate both verbally and in written form, and naturally charismatic with a beautiful smile and a witty sense of humor. Nico was always ready to give of himself; he was a kind and gentle soul, always sensitive to the needs of others. Nico loved life, loved his friends, and loved his family dearly. All who encountered him will miss him immeasurably.
Nico joins his maternal grandfather, Willie S. Martinez, and his paternal grandparents, Jesus Banuelas Arrieta and Manuela Sanchez Arrieta in eternal life. Left behind are his loving parents, Victor Sanchez Arrieta and Norma Martinez Arrieta, his beloved sister Victoria Marie Arrieta, and his maternal grandmother, Maria Cruz Martinez, as well as his uncles and aunts, many cousins, and friends.
Services have been entrusted to the care of La Paz-Graham Funeral Homes, 555 W. Amador, Las Cruces, New Mexico (575) 526-6891. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 8:30-9:30 am with a rosary following at 9:30 am in the La Paz-Graham Chapel. A funeral mass shall follow the rosary at the Basilica of San Albino in Mesilla, NM. Serving as pallbearers for the funeral mass will be Jesse Arrieta, Jonathan Arrieta, Carlos Sanchez, Jose Sanchez, Marcos Sanchez, and Michael Arrieta. The family expresses their eternal gratitude to all who supported, loved, and who shared in Nico's life. Nico, you left us too soon.
