Nicole Lombardi Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Nicole, beloved mother of her 17-year-old son, Landyn, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, after a four-year battle with end-stage renal disease and a lifelong struggle with juvenile diabetes. Nicole was a true fighter until the very end, meeting every challenge with extraordinary courage, grace, and determination.
Born in Hamilton, NJ, on July 22, 1980, Nicole was the cherished daughter of the late Jan (Falcey) Sochalski and the late Henry "Butch" Sochalski, Jr. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1998 and later earned her associate degree in Nursing, fulfilling her calling to care for others. Nicole found her professional home in correctional nursing, where she dedicated herself wholeheartedly to the well-being of those in her care.
Nicole had a kind and gentle soul. She cared deeply for the people in her life, and despite her own struggles, she was always willing to help anyone who needed her. She absolutely loved butterflies and found joy each time one fluttered by. She treasured her years living in Florida, especially being near the beach, where she never passed up an opportunity to sit in the sand and listen to the ocean. Her favorite place was St. Augustine, where she enjoyed sharing good meals with family at the local restaurants she loved.
Her greatest joy in life was her son. Landyn who brought her endless happiness, and their bond was truly special. She took deep pride in watching him grow and into the young man he is becoming.
Nicole was predeceased by her paternal and maternal grandparents; her parents, Jan and Henry "Butch" Sochalski, Jr.; her husband of more than 20 years, Joe Lombardi; and her uncle, Glen Falcey. She is survived by many loving family members, first and foremost her son, Landyn Joseph Lombardi, who was her whole world. She is also survived by her devoted sister and brother-in-law, Nina Lynn and David Talone, and her nephew, Tyler Talone. Nicole leaves behind her aunt and uncle Kathleen and Gary Falcey, her uncle Dennis DeAngio, and her aunt and uncle Sandy and Pat Kerwick. She is further survived by her mother-in-law Dorothy Lombardi, her sister-in-law Jean Totoro and her husband Tom, as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Gathering will be hold on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 6:00pm until 7:00pm at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ 08690. A Memorial Service will begin at 7:00pm.
Nicole's legacy will continue through the lives she saved as an organ donor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Sharing Network, by visiting https://www.njsharingnetwork.org/ in honor of her generous spirit and the hope she has given to others.
Above all, Nicole will be remembered for the deep and unwavering love she had for her son, her kindness, and her remarkable strength. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Nicole, I will miss you terribly. I only wish I would have been home to come to your aid. Know that I´ve loved you since the day we met and Aunt Kathy will never stop loving you. You will be with me always and everytime I see a butterfly I will think of you. Rest easy my love and know that we all are broken hearted with your passing.
