Nicole "Nikki" Breuer, 43, of Burlington, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, after a six year battle with Leukemia.
Born October 8, 1982, in Burlington, she was the daughter of Thomas and Susan Hogberg Peterson. She was married to the love of her life, Christopher Breuer, on May 6, 2017.
She was survived by her devoted husband, Christopher Breuer; her three daughters, who were her world, Mackenzie Blythe of Ames, Taylor Blythe of Burlington, and Shea Breuer of Burlington; and her father Tom (Robin) Peterson of Burlington, who was her best friend. Nikki is also survived by her brother, Don (Kristine) Peterson of St. Charles, MO; half-sister, Jeri Duncan of Galesburg, IL; step-brother, Nathan Pace of Burlington; two step-sisters, Kaydee Lehman of Des Moines and Kelsey (Brandon) Boyer of West Point. Others survivors include, her in-laws, Robert and Kathy Breuer of Burlington, sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Kyle) Harej of Yorkville, IL and Elizabeth (Mitch) King of Iowa City; and eight nieces, eight nephews and a great niece.
She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Susan Peterson, her maternal and paternal grandparents and one nephew.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM onThursday, November 13, 2025 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
The memorial service for Nikki will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 13, 2025, at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with Reverend David J. Yonker and Reverend Brooke Robbins officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held at the church following the service. Burial will be in Burlington Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
A memorial has been established for her three beautiful daughter's education.
