Nikolaos "Big Nick" Dimitrakopoulos

Nikolaos D. "Big Nick" Dimitrakopoulos, 64, of Lynn, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Brigham and Women's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 23, 1960, he was the son of the late Dimitrios and Eugenia (Nikolopoulos) Dimitrakopoulos, and the beloved husband to Sofia (Kardas) Dimitrakopoulos.
Nick was born in Kastania, Greece and moved to the United States as a child, he carried his heritage close to his heart, embracing his Greek roots with immense pride. Settling into American life, he carved his own path as a self-employed electrician, admired for his dedication, skill, and the warm relationships he built with his clients and community. Nick was very strong in his faith and was a devoted parishioner of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, where he would often lend a helping hand. He had a big heart and many friends, in his free time he loved to spend time with his family and listen to music, always listening to his favorite songs on repeat.
He will be dearly missed.
Nick is survived by his beloved wife, Sofia (Kardas) Dimitrakopoulos; his loving children, James Dimitrakopoulos and his wife Allie, and Gia Smith and her husband Derek; his cherished granddaughter, Nikoletta Dimitrakopoulos; and his devoted siblings, Thanasi Dimitrakopoulos and his wife Teddy, and Christina Gomatos and her husband Dimitraki. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, as well as many aunts, cousins, and godchildren.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 54 S Common Street, Lynn, a funeral service will follow in the church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
