Nilton P. DePina, age 50, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2025. Born, raised, and educated in Cambridge, he was the son of Carmelita (Pontes) DePina and the late Ney DePina, and was a graduate of Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, Class of 1993. Moving to Stoughton in 1999, he was a longtime resident where he raised his family and started his life. He worked as a Technician for Heating and AC, working various jobs for over 10 years. He enjoyed taking trips to New Hampshire, and traveling to the city and anything that included his family. Nilton was a humble and gentle soul, devoting his life to his children and family. He was a doting Papa, a beloved son, brother, cousin, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
In addition to his mother, Nilton is survived by his children Neyla Iyanna DePina of Stoughton and her mother Sandy Rodrigues, Nilyanna Sue DePina, Naidy Carmelita DePina, and their mother, Rachael Paulsen, all of Stoughton. He is also survived by his siblings Noel DePina, and Nelita DePina and her husband Jose Soto, both of Stoughton, and was preceded in death by his brother Nelson Pina. He also leaves behind his nephews Imani Pina and Nelson Soto-DePina, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park Street (Rt. 27), Stoughton, on Wednesday November 12th from 9-10 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Nilton’s memory may be made to Associacao Desportiva Juventus de Curral Grande.
