Nina Wyatt, 90 of Wooster, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the early morning of August 25, 2025.
Nina was born on November 15, 1934, in Alton, West Virginia to Rudolph Sandy and Artha Dale (Pringle) Sandy. She married the love of her life, Clayton Wyatt, on October 24, 1953 at the Preacher's house on a stormy winter day, after courting each other over a shared spring in their backyards. They were happily married for 66 years.
Nina was a 1951 graduate of Tennerton/Bucchannon Upshire High School in West Virginia. Nina and Clayton started their family in Sewickley, PA and settled in Wooster, Ohio in 1962, where they raised their five children and lived happily for more than 50 years.
Nina worked in the Wooster City Schools as the very first teacher's aide hired in the district. She touched the lives of countless students and teachers throughout her 25 years at Pittsburgh Avenue School and then Lincoln Way Elementary. Nina most recently enjoyed her time spent with her large family throughout her retirement. She loved her husband and family fiercely, and lived to see them happy. She had the most generous and kind soul, and welcomed everyone into her home. Nina was a loving Wife, Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, and Daughter.
Nina is survived by her children, Alicia (Mike) Pfalzgraf, George (Lisa) Wyatt, Janine (Larry) Stout, and Jeanette (Jodi) Holtrey; grandchildren, Fawn (Scott) Barrie, Gary McNeely, Seth (Sabrina) Wyatt, Meghann (Jared) Akin, Ashley (Logan) Gingery, Brogan (Kristen) Stout, Pharon (Paul) Hranko, Morgan (Logan) McReynolds, Cole (Ariel) Holtrey, and Brock Holtrey, along with 21 greatgrandchildren, and her siblings Mae Arnold and Ralph Sandy. Nina is preceded in death by her loving husband, Clayton Wyatt, her son, William (Billy) Wyatt, both parents, Rudolph and Artha Dale, her sisters Faye Stephenson, Grace Lotz, Reatha Marco, and infant siblings Oscar Ray and Ruth. A special thank you to Jaron Caudill for his exceptional care of our mother.
Funeral ceremony will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 11am at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr, in Wooster, officiated by Pastor Joel Yates. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Life Care Hospice, 1900 Akron Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691 or to the Wayne County Humane Society at 1161 Mechanicsburg Road, Wooster, Ohio 44691.
Nina (Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma) was an amazing woman who is deeply missed and will be forever in our hearts.
