Nora Marie Richardson

Nora Marie Richardson, age 81 of Alvin, Texas, passed away Monday, July 29, 2024 at her home. Nora was born October 3, 1942 in Dallas, Texas and was a longtime resident of Alvin which is where she met the love of her life, Floyd. She graduated from Alvin High School in 1960 and went on to receive her Bachelor Degree in Education from Sam Houston State University. She worked for ExxonMobil-Geoscience/Reserves group for 42 years as a supervisor. Nora was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Alvin where for many years she provided flowers for the church sanctuary. She loved to spend time cooking, baking, gardening, sewing, cross stitch, quilting, and painting. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandma. Family was first and foremost in her life. She deeply loved all her granddaughters and loved watching them succeed in all their activities including spending many weekends watching them play softball, volleyball and in the rodeo arena. She touched the lives of many people through her generosity, determination, kindness, and love for life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, E. Floyd Richardson; parents, James and Edna Adams. Nora is survived by her daughters, Michelle Hilborn and husband Aaron, Marie Staines and husband Jon; granddaughters, Alexis Staines, Heather Hilborn, Holly Hilborn and Lily Staines; her beloved dogs, Rosie and Missy; along with numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, August 2, 2024 at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 3, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church of Alvin (302 South Johnson Street Alvin, Texas 77511) with interment to follow at Mustang Lutheran Cemetery in Alvin.
