Nora Valdez, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home in Lexington, North Carolina, on September 6, 2025. Born on June 30, 1952, in Miles City, Montana, she was the beloved daughter of the late Toribia and Octaviano Hernandez.
Nora spent her formative years in Indio, California, where she received her education at Indio High School. In 1985, she married Heradio Valdez in a beautiful ceremony in Palm Springs, California, marking the beginning of a devoted partnership that spanned four decades.
Nora was a woman who cherished the simple joys of life, finding great pleasure in crafting and spending quality time with her loved ones. Her warmth and creativity left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Consuelo Moreno, Concepcion Benitez, Pablo Hernandez, Antonio Hernandez, and Estevan Hernandez. Her legacy is lovingly carried on by her husband, Heradio Valdez; her daughter, Reyna Elisa Escobar; her grandsons, Julio Fernando Navarro, Jr., Emilio Jose Navarro, Paul Alejandro Navarro, and Jordan Joel Escobar; her sisters, Odilia Deanda, Ofelia Martinez, and Gloria Hernandez; her niece, Norma-Jean Ontineros; and many other cherished family members and friends.
A funeral mass will take place at 12pm on September 13, 2025, at Our Lady of the Highways Catholic Church in Thomasville, NC. The family will receive friends for a time of viewing and visitation from 4-7pm the same day at Triad Cremation & Funeral Service in Greensboro, NC.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
