Nora Catherine Walker, 88 years, went to be with our Lord Friday, March 7, 2025 in Rising Sun, MD, following her fight with dementia. Born January 31, 1937 in Conowingo, MD, Nora dedicated her life to her family and career at the Perry Point V.A. Medical Center. Nora was a retired food service worker. She took pride in her work and enjoyed seeing the patients every day. Nora was a member of the First Baptist Church of Perryville, MD.
Nora enjoyed her time at her home on the waterfront in Carpenters Point where you would find the family on the boat during the summer enjoying the outdoors. She loved to host parties and surround herself with her extended family and friends. She enjoyed reading, shopping, and cleaning. She was a beloved Grammy to all the kids in the family and ready to watch the kids at any moment.
Nora was survived by her children, Robin Cole, Sharon Walker, Beth Orefice (Ed), and Christopher Walker (Danielle); sisters, Jean Royer, Nancy Beyer, and Joyce Struven; grandchildren, Amy Yackanech (Mick), Crystal Edwards (Devin), Jason Insley (Samantha), Shawn Walker, and Jaclyn Defino; great grandchildren, Stephany Phelps, Kimberly Oakes, Carmen Ferrigno, Samantha Parker, Shea Ferrigno, Ava Ferrigno, and Emma Yackanech; and one great-great granddaughter, LeeAnna Oakes-Bell.
Nora was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Walker; father, Earl Meadows; mother, Fonnie Meadows (Tiller); sons, David Walker and Thomas P. Walker; and siblings, Irvine Meadows, Robert Meadows, and Bernice Davis.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025, 3 PM, at the First Baptist Church of Perryville, MD. Interment will be private.
