Norbert "Nate" Tanguay

Norbert "Nate" Arthur Tanguay, 92, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025 at home after a long illness.

Born May 22, 1933 in Winchendon, MA, he was the son of the late Arthur Tanguay and Yvonne (Brunette).

He is survived by his wife Sherrie (Miller) who loved him with all her heart. They were soulmates, destined to be together. He has a daughter Theresa and her husband Tim Steele, and three sons, Michael and his wife Nancy, Mark, and William. Nate has 4 grandchildren, Ben, Chris, Mark, and Luke.

Nate grew up in Gardner, MA with his 6 brothers, Emil, George, Leo, Herve, Armand, and Fr. Andre Tanguay, and 4 sisters, Sr. Cecile Tanguay, Fern, Goguen, Sr. Gilberte Tanguay, and Denise Agnelli.

Nate was a Navy Veteran, something he was very proud of. After the Navy, he achieved a pilot's license. He loved to fly small planes. Nate enjoyed working as an instructor at the Municipal Police Training Academy in Meriden, CT. So many police recruits have so many great stories about Nate. He was loved and respected by many. Nate was in law enforcement for 25 years. He was a private investigator in Colorado for many years. He also authored four books.

Nate was the kindest, most patient and loving man you could ever meet. He loved people and he had a story for everyone! We will miss you, Nate. They don't make 'em like you anymore!
