Norene Peterson, 100, of Olympia, Washington, passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 3, 2025, at Brookdale. She was born on March 4, 1925, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Vernon Louis Blair and Florence Katherine Sahler.
Norene lived a vibrant and full life. As the devoted wife of a U.S. Army serviceman, she spent 20 years traveling the world and building a loving home wherever life took her - from Japan and Puerto Rico to France, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, and California. Later, she made homes in Anoka, Minnesota; Elma and Olympia, Washington; and Mesa, Arizona.
A homemaker by heart and by nature, Norene filled her days with joy and purpose. She loved square dancing and proudly danced her way around the world. Her hobbies also included sewing, traveling, enjoying good food, and playing cards with friends and family. Those who knew Norene will remember her for her energetic spirit, caring heart, and the fun-loving light she brought to every gathering.
She is survived by her beloved children, Gregory C. Peterson, Nannette M. Forster, and Pamela A. Bolton; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with a loving partner of over 30 years, with whom she shared many wonderful memories.
