Norma Amatangelo Obituary

Norma Amatangelo, 93, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024. She was born in Canton, Ohio on August 2, 1930. She graduated from Timken High School. Norma met and married her husband, Richard, a year after graduation and they were married 51 years. He preceded her in death in November, 2000. Norma worked at the Department of Health and Human Services for a number of years and enjoyed the friends she made there. She was very artistic and enjoyed many hobbies including knitting, counted crostitch, rubber stamping and gardening. Norma was a member of the Canton Seventh Day Adventist church and held many positions there over the years. She especially enjoyed teaching the children about Jesus. She shared her faith with many people and would tell them "Jesus is coming Soon".
Norma was preceded in death by her parents Ethel and Carl Freeman and her brother David Freeman. She is survived by three children, Carolyn Stewart, Gary (Kathy) Amatangelo and Brenda (Wilson) Benggon; sisters in-law, Barb Davis and Carol Kisling; brother, and sister in-law, Roger and Carole Amatangelo; along with many nieces and nephews. She has six grandchildren that brought so much joy to her life. Christine Knepp, Greg (Tanya) Knepp, Blake (Liz) Amatangelo, Laurel (Zach) Witten and David and Danny Suglio.
A private Funeral Service will be held for immediate family only according to Norma's wishes at Reed Funeral Home (NORTH CANTON) chapel. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Norma's memory to Aultman Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center for their kind and loving care.
