Corydon, Indiana
Norma Louise Blank, 100, passed away at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born September 18, 1922, five miles south of Lanesville and moved to town when she was 4. She was one of four children born to Fred and Anna Voelker Zollman. She attended St. John's Lutheran School through 8th grade, and she earned her high school diploma at Lanesville. She married David Blank on December 6, 1942. She was a full-time mom and farmer's wife. She lived a healthy life and worked hard on the farm. She was a lifelong active member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Lanesville. She loved to travel, especially to their ranch in Southwest Colorado and made that trip just 5 years ago. She also made a trip to the Holy Land. She had a tremendous faith in God. She enjoyed the years that her husband was on the Indiana State Fair Board, where she got to meet many of the entertainers and get her picture made with them and sharing those special times with her friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, David, children, Lynn Frederick and Douglas Ray Blank, 3 brothers, Oscar, Martin and Donald Voelker and great grandson, Gavin Christian Blank. She is survived by her sons, Donn Robert Blank (Trish) and Gerald G. Blank (Debra) all of Corydon, and David Randall Blank of Angola, IN; grandchildren, Nicholas Blank, Christopher Blank (Sharon), Jill Saegesser (Casey), Darin Blank (Jennifer), Robert Blank (Donna), Chelsea Robbeloth (Brendon) and Josh Nicholson (Emily), 17 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday, October 28, 2022, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lanesville, IN. Pastor Mark Carnahan will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM to 8 PM Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon, IN. and from 9 AM until the time of service at 10:30 AM at the church. The family suggests memorial gifts be made to the David R. Blank Fund at the Harrison County Community Foundation. The family would like to thank Norma's caregivers, Lisa England, Deanna Williams, Tina Taylor and Amedisys Hospice for all their loving care.
