"A Life Well Lived…"
Norma Bell Nelson was born in 1928 in Monkton Maryland. Her parents were Howard Guy
Nelson and Norma Tucker Bell Nelson. She was raised on a farm with three siblings Guy Jr.,
Ann (Sis) and Steve Nelson. Norma married George Robert Davidson in 1948 at St James
Church on My Lady's Manor and had three sons, Richard, Chris and Neal. They started their
married life in Richmond, VA and then Portsmouth, NH where Bob served in the Navy on
submarines during the Korean War. After the war the young family moved to Riderwood, MD
where she lived for 67 years. Norma was a superb cook and homemaker, and once the boys
were old enough, she worked as a librarian at Gilman School. She loved her family and
friends and travelling all over the world. She had four grandchildren, Ryan, Luke, Tim and
Ginny and four great grandchildren, Rogan, Ainsley, Blakely, and Brooks. She was a strong
woman of faith who loved and was loved by everyone she met in her long, abundant life.
