Hullinger Mortuary Our wonderful, beloved, and precious mother, grandmother, and great grandmother - Norma May Shields Hansen returned to her Father in Heaven, October 5, 2025, at the age of 94.
Norma was born to Marvin Wanless and Ilenna Nielson Shields on January 22, 1931, in Roosevelt, Utah.
Norma was the only daughter of Wanless and Ilenna Shields with five brothers: Gordon Shields, Wayne Shields, Joseph Shields, Gary Shields, and Jerry Shields.
Norma was married to Lynn Ray Hansen of Altamont Utah on December 1, 1947 - later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised four children - Lynda (Joseph) McAndrew, Norman Hansen, Paula Huber, Linden (Sandy) Hansen. Norma was blessed with 17 grandchildren and 44 great grandchildren. Lynn died February 21, 2005.
Norma was well known for her singing talent. She sang and performed at many weddings, funerals, church functions and political functions.
Norma was a dedicated lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held many church callings. She was the music specialist and bus driver for the Con Amore Training Center in Myton Utah for 18 years.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Vernal and Salt Lake Hospice teams for everything they did for our mother.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Altamont Cemetery in Altamont Utah. A viewing will be at the Hullinger Mortuary in Roosevelt Utah: Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
