On February 4, 2026, surrounded by love and carried in the hearts of family and friends, Norma Lee Hightower departed this life peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and compassion.
Norma was born on June 24, 1945, in Chandler, Oklahoma, to Jackie Norman and Lavada Marie (Wakely) Place. She attended school in Arizona, Kansas, Chandler, Oklahoma, and Davenport, Oklahoma. On January 18, 1963, she married the love of her life, Jerry W. Hightower, and proudly graduated from Davenport high school, 4 months later.
Norma worked for Central Oklahoma Telephone Company in Davenport for 27 years before retiring in 2007. Following her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with friends on bus trips throughout the United States. She was actively involved in Meals on Wheels and faithfully served in the funeral dinner ministry at Davenport Baptist Church.
Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Hightower; her parents, Jack and Lavada Place; and a sister, Lorraine Henry.
She is survived by her children, Paul Hightower, Shelley Holland and husband, Mark, and Shawna Wilson and husband, Darrell; a brother, Delbert Place and his wife, Patty; a sister, Mary Beth Cook; grandchildren, Kaila Parrick and husband Daniel, Laurinn Sheets and husband Taylor, Karis Schevetto and husband, Zach, Darian Hightower and wife, Rachel, Hannah Bradley and husband, Jordan, Jerry Holland and wife, Peyton, Jesse Holland and husband, Zach, Brent Wilson and wife, Adrienne, Bryce Wilson and wife, Cynthia, and Bradyn Wilson and fiancé, Kaitlyn; 19 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
