Norma J. Laird, age 83, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, May 30, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 25, 1940, in Erie, to the late Russell and Donna (Early) Griffith.
Norma graduated from Strong Vincent High School. After raising four children with her husband, Edward, she worked as a prep cook at Eat’n Park. Norma loved spending time with family, especially playing games with the grandchildren and going on picnics. She enjoyed crocheting doilies and sewing in her free time.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Edward J. Laird, Sr.; brothers, Ike Griffith, Albert Griffith, Raymond Griffith and Robert Griffith; sister, Cheryl Vincent and son-in-law, Virgil Tharp.
Norma leaves behind to cherish her in memory, her son, Edward (Miae) Laird; three daughters, Laura (Morgan) Bossart, Susan Tharp and Cindy (Bud) Rugar; eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She is further survived by her siblings, Joyce Bennett, Donna Myers, Eugene Griffith and Ronald Griffith.
The family would like to send a special “thank you” to the LECOM Hospice team, especially Dr. Carter, Laura, Tracy, Sandy and Rich, for their awesome care.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc., Downtown, 602 W 10th Street. Burial will be private.
