Norma is survived by her sons, James Christopher (Denise) Lane, David Ross Lane; siblings, Lanny (Jean) Crowe, Michael Crowe, Vicki Frances; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
During her sons school years, Norma worked from home as an appliqu seamstress for the Frog Pond childrens clothing line and had dinner on the table by 4:30 when James got home. Famous for her homemade biscuits, she fed and provided a roof for countless people through the years. In the early 1980s, Norma proudly worked at the First State Bank in Stockbridge as an IRA specialist where she later retired. Norma wasnt finished though; she found herself at home at Austin Oaks Baptist Church and enjoyed working as the churchs bookkeeper. She also volunteered at the Good News Club afterschool program, sharing the love of Jesus with children. Focused on the cross, Norma gave all of herself to her family and friends, never ceasing to pray or give up hope. To her dying day, her pocketbook overflowed with handwritten scriptures, and she could hardly wait to meet Jesus.
A memorial service to honor Mrs. Lanes life will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Ellenwood Oaks Community Church. Pastor Dan Holley and Pastor Chris Mason will officiate the service.
