Norma was born to Ezequiel Rivera and Salud Gonzalez in Patillas, Puerto Rico on September 26th, 1935. She moved to Indiana in 1951. She met the love of her life, Carlos, in the early 1950's when he was looking for employment. Soon after, they were married and moved to Chicago. In 1955, they welcomed their first daughter, Wendy. Two years later, they welcomed another daughter, Yolanda. Thinking their family was complete, Norma began working at Nabisco, where Carlos was already employed. Ten years later, God surprised them with another beautiful daughter, Norma Jean. Together, Carlos and Norma each worked over 35 years for Nabisco to provide for their family. As time went on, Carlos and Norma's daughters blessed them with four grandchildren – Carlitos Rico, Lisette Angelica, Amanda Marie and Marcos Antonio. Together, Abuela and Abuelo helped care for each of them and provided special care only grandparents can do. Their grandchildren totally loved and adored them. After Norma retired, they moved back to Puerto Rico with their daughter Norma Jean, her husband Jose Carlos, and their daughter, Amanda Marie. Wendy and her husband Luciano (Donald), Yolanda and her husband Jose Luis, and the rest of the family visited them as often as possible. After her husband Carlos passed away in 2010, the family began making plans to move back to Illinois. To Norma's delight, she had three beautiful great grandchildren – Giovani Carlos, Joaquin Andres, and Adalynn Yolanda. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were Norma's biggest enjoyment in life.

Norma's life is now complete and she is ready to join her husband and family as she rests in eternal peace. While she will be missed beyond measure, we find comfort knowing she had a full and happy life.

Life seeks a balance, today our family is one less, but heaven has gained an angel.

Rest in Peace.
