Norma Lee Nalley, age 89, was born on April 20, 1936, in Atwood, Oklahoma, and passed away on June 9, 2025, in Yukon, Oklahoma. She attended Atwood Schools and married her beloved husband, Jimmie Nalley. Norma was an active member of the Lamar Senior Citizens Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Dale Nalley; her son, Mark Allen Nalley; her mother, Orell Hayes; her father, Ed Hayes; and her brother, Kenneth Hayes. She is survived by her three children: Glenda Johnson of Yukon, Oklahoma; Pat Hanson (Steve) of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and Jim Nalley (Jonie) of Yukon, Oklahoma. Additionally, she leaves behind 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, as well as two sisters, Barbara of Meeker, Oklahoma, and Inez of Sanderson, Texas.
Known affectionately as "Grandma" by everyone, Norma cherished her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed her time with friends at the Lamar Senior Citizens Club, where she took painting lessons and became a talented artist. Her paintings, which won several awards, were among her proudest achievements and are displayed with pride by her loved ones. Norma also enjoyed creating paintings for her friends and family.
One of her favorite activities at the center was participating in "Nashville Nights," where she proudly performed as Loretta Lynn, singing "Coal Miner's Daughter." She also loved attending music events, dances, and singings at local centers with her sister Barbara. Norma's love for her family, friends, and creative pursuits left a lasting legacy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at 2:00 p.m., at the Holdenville Cemetery, Holdenville, OK.
