Norma Walters Obituary

She was born in 1935 to Harold and Mildred (Harrison) Styer in Wadsworth. She graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1953. She was a drum majorette during her high school years. She then attended Kent State University where she met her husband Dave and earned a degree in Education. Norma taught for many years in several school districts including Avon, Tallmadge, Wadsworth, and Smithville.
Norma was a lifelong resident of Wadsworth, devoting her life to serving the Lord and those around her. She was deeply loved by her family and the community. She will be greatly missed especially for her gifts of encouragement and prayer.
Norma attended Freshwater Community Church where she led a Sunday class as well as a Thursday morning prayer group for many years.
Norma is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Dave; her daughters Cheryl (Phil) Hagar and Sarah (Ken) Everhard, her grandchildren Jennifer (Josue) Utreras, David Hagar, Katie (Grant) Schofield, and Joshua (Kimberlee) Everhard as well as six great-grandchildren.
Norma's Life Celebration will be held on Wednesday, December 18th at Freshwater Community Church 590 Hartman Rd., Wadsworth, Ohio at 10:00 am with visitation one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marian's Closet.

Praying for peace & comfort to Dave, and to the whole family. It was truly an honor to have known Norma all the years at Freshwater Communuty Church. She had so much love for Christ, her family, friends & especially for her church.

We were so sorry we couldn´t attend Norma´s service. Bill was out of town but I was able to watch it online. What touching tributes to a true saint. We love you both and our time at Freshwater.
