Norman Akery

Norman L. Akery, 78, of Titusville, Florida, passed away on May 11, 2025. Born in Tampa, Florida, Norman was the son of the late Joseph and Frances Akery. After his father died at a young age, he was raised by Howard C Moore. A dedicated family man and hard worker, Norman lived a full life defined by service, adventure, and love. Throughout his career, Norman held several roles that reflected his strong work ethic and diverse talents. He began as a data processor at NASA, later founded and operated his own lawn care business, and eventually retired as the Director of Environment and Safety for the Brevard County School Board. Norman was happiest outdoors-he loved 4-wheeling through the woods, fishing, and, above all, spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, practical wisdom, and the joy he found in simple moments with family. He is survived by his children, Calvin (Amber) Akery, Jennifer (Patrick) Joyce, Tabitha Akery and Clinton Akery; grandchildren Anya, Brennan, Samantha, C.J., Liliana, Isabella and Violet and Gage; and his brother, James Beauford Akery. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of many years, Wilma Yvonne Akery, who passed in 2015. Norman's legacy lives on in the memories he created with his loved ones and the example he set for those who knew him. Norman raised his children in the church and was a follower of Christ.
