Norman Joseph Beaumont, age 68, passed on in the early morning hours, the first day of Spring, March 20, 2021. He was born on September 4, 1952 to Francis Joseph Beaumont and June Shirley Bruneau. Skip was raised in Atlanta, MI by his proud and loving grandparents, Norman Joseph and Rose Bruneau.

He loved living in Atlanta, where he spent his life working in the building industry. He worked as a builder and carpenter and was a jack of all trades. He began his career at a young age and acquired his experience and work ethic working for many of the local Ol'Timers who went before him. He especially enjoyed working and sharing his knowledge with the younger generations. He was always ready and willing to help anyone in need or offer his opinion or expertise. Riding around northern Michigan, he would point out houses and buildings he built or worked on. If he didn't do the job, he could tell you who did.

Skip was a "biker" in the best sense of the word. Much to his grandmother's disapproval, his father bought him his first dirt bike at a young age. He was an avid rider and enjoyed those years racing with his friends and riding the off road trails throughout the county. He was hooked and the rest is history. As he got older his passion turned to Harley's. Skip loved to ride and loved nothing more than the freedom of jumping on his latest bike and "heading out on the highway". He was well known as the Road Captain and will always be remembered for the loudest and fastest bike around.

He went on many bike trips with his friends over the years. His favorite being the almost yearly trips to the Keewanaw Peninsula where his family's homestead still stands. He loved the rich history of the area and sharing his enthusiasm and knowledge of it with everyone. He could strike up an interesting conversation with anyone, old or young. He loved music and could almost name any song. He always had the radio blasting and often quizzed and educated the guys on the job. He also loved fishing, especially his trips to Canada with some of his closest friends. Skip's life was full of adventures of growing up in Atlanta with his huge circle of friends who were like family to him. Oh, the stories he could tell.

Skip's last days were spent peacefully, surrounded by many loving friends and family at the home he built with the love of his life, Lendy J. Zollars.

A celebration of life was held for Skip on April 17, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Skip and Lendy's house. Many laughs and wonderful memories were shared.
