Kernersville – Mr. Norman Gordon Freeman, 75, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on March 12, 1949, in Stokes County to Duff Gordan and Dorothy Pegram Freeman. Norman was a graduate of East Forsyth High School and attended Forsyth Technical Community College. He was a resident of Kernersville for over 30 years. He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after many years of service. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed fishing. Norman was also a passionate Detroit Lions fan. He was an amazing and wonderful father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter Theresa George; his partner, Linda Stewart; and one brother, James Kenneth Freeman.
Norman is survived by his sister, Barbara Idol (Roger); one brother, Charles Wayne Freeman (Diane Huntley); three nieces, Karen Collins, Sonia Idol, Lauren Teague (Brent); two nephews, Deric Freeman (Gin Yan) and Tyler Freeman; one great niece, Lilly Teague; his son-in-law, Michael George; granddaughter, Tanisha George-Dennis (Brandon); and two great grandsons, Bryson Dennis and Braylon Dennis.
A graveside service for Norman will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Todd Tucker officiating. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
