Norman V. James Jr. of
Forked River, NJ a "Dear Husband, Beloved Father, Dad, Loving Popou, Trusted Brother, Respected Uncle, and True Friend" the center and rock of his immediate and extended family, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Community Medical Center.
Norman served proudly in the United States Navy on the USS New Jersey. Owned and operated 3 ice cream business, worked as a salesman at Hometown dairy, until his retirement. He was a respected member of his community. He served honorably on many boards such as Rotary club, Board of Education for the Ringwood schools, Republican Senatorial Inner Circle and Republican clubs, and most especially his dedication to church by serving as a member of the Ahepa and a term as the Ahepa district governor, with many hours dedicated to service of his church and faith. He loved and treasured his church, had an incredibly strong faith in God as a dedicated Orthodox Christian. He lived to serve, in so many ways and strived to be as Christ like by living to help others financially and emotionally. He never turned away anyone in need, opened his home, shared his talents, offered his advice and guidance, helped financially, spiritually but always quietly, never boasting. He smiled often, had an incredible sense of humor, loved to joke, and have fun with friends, and strangers alike a real people person.
His family was his everything! With an incredible confidence and strength, he guided us all, taught us to work hard, have true integrity, show kindness and moral strength, he showed us how to strive to live always by his example. A truly great man!
Norman was predeceased by his wife Ernestine (Marountas) in 2022, his late daughter Loretta Michele James, his father Norman V. James Sr., Mother Loretta Smith, brother Jack, and sisters Carol and Barbara.
Norman is survived by his son Norman V. James III, wife Susanna and their 4 children Brittany, Norman IV, Saturn, and Austin. son Lance James, daughter Cherisey Renzulli and husband Danny, and their children Paul and Bella and daughter Jessica James. Daughter Lori James and sons Glenn Heins, Andrew Heins and his children Rachel and Logan, and her daughter Adriana Heins fiancé Chris Boardingham and their children Porscha, Brock and Taner. Daughter Sharon Lines and her husband Peter and their sons Anthony and Nicholas. Daughter Tracey Zummo and her husband Michael, their children son Mickey Zummo and wife Natalie, and their children Marius and Ophelia, daughter Lauren Sanchez and husband Juan, and their children Joey, Ava, Bryan, and Cristian, and daughter Kassidy Evaristo and husband Alex, and daughter Courtney Crespo and husband Anthony and their children Alina and Greyson, and sons Sean Feery and Dimitry Feery and wife Julia, and son Dakota and wife Nina. His brother Barry and sister Arlene.
The Family will be receiving relatives and friends, Monday, January 30, 2023 from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 2200 Church Rd.,
Toms River, NJ, Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 AM at the Church, followed by a burial at Ocean County Memorial Park,
