Norman (Norm) Charles Kopke, age 76, of Port Austin, Michigan and Bonita Springs, Florida passed away peacefully at his Florida home on March 26, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Norm was a 32-year General Motors retiree who was a very passionate UAW supporter. Norm was a fun-loving man who loved his beer, playing cards, campfires and watching his Detroit sports teams and crime shows. Norm was blessed to reside in two cherished homes and cities after retirement. He loved the ruralness of Michigan's thumb area offering him and his wife a low-key, simple lifestyle where family and friends often came for several long weekends during Michigan's summer months. He and his wife also were snowbirds for fifteen years where they flocked to the warm sunshine state creating another place for family and friends to visit during Michigan's cold winter months. The memories that were made during these trips to Norm and Jill's homes are now priceless.
Norm was proceeded in death by his parents Norman and Victoria Kopke.
Norm is survived by his loving wife, Jill Kopke; his beloved daughter Leslie (Rick) Tannous; his step-children Lisa Darmis, Chandra (Gjon) Djelevic, Karrie (the late Dan) Capalungan; his six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; his brothers (Mike and Greg (Betty)); his sisters (Barbara (Nabil), Phylis (the late Don), Rachel (Ken); along with many lifelong friends including 'Skibo' (Kenny) who was his 'brother from another mother' and dear friend of 71 years.
The family will celebrate his life privately. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society in memory of Norman Kopke (www.americancancersociety.com).
