It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Norman "Pete" Vaughan who passed away on May 1, 2025 at his residence at the age of 63.
Funeral Services officiated by Deacon Billy Vincent will be held at 12:00 PM, Monday, May 05, 2025 at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan. A visitation will take place at Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan on Monday from 9:00 AM until the services at 12:00 PM with a rosary being prayed at 10:30 AM. He will be laid to rest at Harrington Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Brady Broussard, Chase Nunez, Seth Comeaux, Rustin Comeaux, Bufford Dean Sarver, and Gilbert "Stump" Sarver. Honorary pallbearers will be John Dean Hebert and Sleighton Hebert.
Pete was a beloved father, son, and brother who was born on March 2, 1962 in Abbeville. He was raised in Pecan Island where he graduated from Pecan Island High School in 1980. Pete was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He also enjoyed his farm where he raised his cattle and horses. One of his favorite places to be was on his tractor. Pete and his family spent many years showing cattle representing his brand of Four-V Farm.
Pete was an entertainer, who loved cooking for his family and friends and always making people laugh. He dedicated most of his life working in the oilfield, as he called it "The Big Blue Pond".
Pete leaves behind his children, Tubby Broussard (Anna) of Kaplan and Shyla Vaughan (Bubba Casey) of Kaplan; his fiancée, Roxanne Stelly of Kaplan; five grandchildren, Kain Broussard (Elaine), Shelby Simon, Reese Broussard, Remy Broussard, and Emmitt Robinson; his mother, Margaret Vaughan; six siblings, Kim Bruce (Gary), Kim Quick (Joe), Gail Craig (Donald), Alan Vaughan (Marnie), Sue Ann Comeaux (Shane), and Jo Carol Hartley (Jerry); and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Tawana René Vaughan; his son, Brock Anthony Vaughan; his father, Norman Gail Vaughan; one nephew, Jeremy Vaughan; his paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Loveling Vaughan; and his maternal grandparents, Astor and Emily Morgan.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the prayer groups that prayed for Pete in his final days and Heart of Hospice, especially his nurses Elise and Chayla.
