Norman Teltow Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fairmount Funeral Home, Cemetery & Crematory on Jan. 13, 2026.
Norman D. Teltow, known affectionately as Norm to his friends and family, lived a life marked by an indomitable spirit and an unwavering love for adventure. Born on April 20, 1943, in Paris, Arkansas, Norm's journey through life was as vibrant and dynamic as the man himself. On January 3, 2026, in Aurora, Colorado, Norm's story came to a peaceful close surrounded by the love of his family and the memories of a life well-lived.
Norm's legacy is carried on through his beloved family. He was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Lynda Teltow, leaving a love story that continues to inspire. His son Tom and wife Lisa, his daughter Kathy and husband David, and his dear companion Nelda, each hold a chapter of Norm's story close to their hearts. Norm's zest for life and love are mirrored in the eyes of his grandchildren, Kyla and her husband Travis, Dylan, Chelsey and her husband Matt, and Garrett. His great-grandchildren, Carina, Elijah, Rowan, Luke, and Dylan, will grow up with tales of their great-grandfather's escapades and achievements. Norm's brother Johnny, along with many nieces and nephews, also share in the rich tapestry of memories left behind.
For over 45 years, Norm poured his passion and entrepreneurial spirit into his business, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and community. He served with dedication as a Major in the Civil Air Patrol, contributing to the safety and well-being of others. Norm's commitment to service was further exemplified through his role as Vice President of Optimist International, where he worked tirelessly to bring out the best in children and in his community.
Norm's love for speed and thrill-seeking began with drag racing, starting with a truck and eventually leading to the mastery of both rear and front-engine dragsters. His need for speed was not just confined to the ground; later in life, Norm took to the skies, obtaining his pilot's license and purchasing his own airplane. The same skies that once carried his dreams would witness the soaring of his spirit, free and unbounded.
Norm was a man of many words, but if one had to choose just a few to describe him, they would be loving, adventurous, and optimistic. His loving nature was the foundation of his family, his adventurous spirit was the blueprint of his life, and his optimism was the light that guided him through every challenge.
As we reflect on Norm's extraordinary life, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on so many. Norm's story does not end here; it continues in the lives of those he touched, the memories he created, and the love he shared. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Norman D. Teltow may have taken his final bow, but his encore will resonate for generations to come. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Norman "Norm" D. Norm and I were neighbors and I will always remember him by his positive attitude and friendly conversation. He liked to bake and would always ring my doorbell with a sample of his goodies. Be free, Norm. I'll miss you.

Norm was a fellow Optimist, neighbor, client, and friend. He was in the middle of writing his memoirs...gone too soon. You will be missed my friend.
