Norva White Obituary
Sue grew up in the San Joaquin Valley of Central California. Her parents had moved there from Civet, Oklahoma before she was born to escape The Dust Bowl. Sue and Leon built a successful business together in Nipomo, California. Their subsequent prosperity gave Sue the chance to give her kids all the things she didn't have when she was young. After selling their business they moved to Clayton, OK in 1976. Sue spent many hours sewing, crocheting, gardening, and canning, but her greatest joy came from being a grandparent. She loved being a "Nanny" and she always smiled the most when her grandkids, and later, her great-grandkids were around. Sue enjoyed making holidays large, fun, and magical events filled with extended family and delicious food.
Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, daughter Sally Castillo and husband Robert, son Tommy White and wife Kathy, and daughter Cathy Edwards and husband Barry. Sue's legacy lives on with her eight grandchildren, SueAnn Cundiff, Pamela Looney and husband Ruben, Jessica Castillo, Sarah Wiggins and husband Kody, Morgan Jones and husband Jordan, William Lee Edwards and wife Haley, Curtis Robbins and wife Lauran, Trevor White and wife Hanna, Morgan Gellegos and husband Chris, Ty White, and Trace White.
Sue is also survived by her 13 great grandchildren; brother Wendell Harris and wife Joyce, brother Jearl "JD" Harris and wife Loueen, sister Vinita Buchanan and husband Charles, sister Joyce Moore and husband Kenny; and numerous extended family members, loved ones, and friends.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Curtis Leon White, parents Melvin and Anna Harris, and her sister Juanita Bailey.
Sue personally requested that there be no formal services.
