Novel Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home on Apr. 10, 2025.
Novel Osborne Davis, 73, of Poosey Ridge, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025 at The Terrace in Berea.
Novel was born on Wednesday, November 14, 1951 in Estill County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Herman and Viola McKinney Osborne. She was a retired bus driver for the Madison County School System, who loved children and referred to those who rode her bus as her "little darlings." She was an avid bowler, having bowled in the Madison County Bowlers Association. She loved playing horseshoes so much that she carried them with her in the trunk of her car, always ready for a game. Novel had quite a competitive spirit, always enjoying playing and having a good time, and always wanting to win. She loved family and always enjoyed family reunions and 'get togethers.' She was an accomplished gardener who raised fruits, vegetables and flowers. She carried a shovel in her car, always observing the area for a wild- flower she could dig and transplant. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting and working jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the Full Gospel Tabernacle and loved her church family.
Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Miller (Frankie) and Melissa Davis (Robert Lamb); two granddaughters, Rachel Velez (Tino) and Morgan Benton; two great-grandchildren, Addison Velez and Liliana Velez (coming soon); two brothers-in-law, James Angel and Billy Coffey.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Herman Osborne, Jr., Ray D. Stevens, Lenora Flynn, Cordella Angel, Betty Coffey and Louise Terry.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 PM Friday, April 11, 2025, at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Horn officiating. Burial will follow in the Estes Cemetery on Barnes Mountain in Estill County.
Visitation will be from 11 AM – 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Miller, Robert Lamb, Tino Velez, Jeff Angel, Sean Osborne and Connie Estes.
