Nathan Mounts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home on Feb. 18, 2026.
Mr. Nathan Milton Mounts, 55, of Madisonville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond with his daughter and son-in-law by his side.

He was born in South Williamson community of Pike County, Kentucky, on August 10, 1970. He was raised in the Phelps area of Pike County and then relocated to Madisonville. Nathan was a Mine Safety & Health Specialist for MSHA and so enjoyed his work as well as his fellow co-workers. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Madisonville and he loved spending time with his church friends who he considered family. In his free time, Nathan enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, eating with his friends and family – especially if it was a steakhouse or Cracker Barrel – but his favorite pastime was spending time with his two grandsons.

Survivors include: his daughter, Ariel Browning (Avery); his two grandsons, Paxton & Wesley; his brothers, Brent Blankenship (Angie), David Blankenship, Randy Blankenship, Peter Bentley (Anita Jo), and Mark Bentley (Robin); a close special friend, Lory Prater (Neva); his step-father, Jerry Cunningham (Shirley); as well as a host of other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Harold Blankenship; his mother, Georgia Mounts Cunningham; and his sister, Cheryl Ward.

A memorial service will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 622 Mt. Pisgah Rd, Bremen, KY 42325, with Adam Brown officiating.

The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, is in charge of local arrangements.
