Ocd Marie Elizabeth Krug Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lopatich-Brinker Funeral Home, LLC on Dec. 22, 2025.
Sister Marie Elizabeth Krug, OCD, (Elizabeth Romaine Krug), passed to her Beloved Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2025, in her 66th year of religious life.
Sister was born May 28, 1941, in her grandmother's house in Chest Springs, PA. She attended St. Monica's Parish School and also began serving as an organist at the Parish at the age of 12. Being the organist for our community became for her a lifelong joy. She graduated from Mt. Aloysius Academy and entered the Carmelite Monastery in Loretto, PA. When a new foundation was made in Latrobe, PA, she came to the Diocese of Greensburg as a novice, the youngest of the founding sisters. She served the community in a multitude of ways over the years, including on numerous occasions acting as the Prioress for the Monastery.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Reta Brauchler. Sister is survived by her brothers Leo, Walter, Jim (Nancy), Earl (Sandy), Larry Krug and her sisters, Ruth Parsons and Angie Carver (Rick), and many beloved nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.
Viewing will be in the chapel of the Carmelite Monastery on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 3 to 8 PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Monastery Chapel. Interment will follow in the Monastery Cemetery. Flowers are respectfully declined.
