Odessa Hall Shearin

Odessa Hall Shearin, 78, of Northampton County passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at her home. She was born to the late Louis E. Ellis and Estelle Louise Shaw Ellis on June 13, 1947. She is also preceded in death by her brother William “Boots” Hall, her sisters Christine McCraney and Jean Hall Grant, and her son-in-law Jimmy Hubbard.

Odessa enjoyed flowers and all things nature. She loved the Lord and the blessings He sent to her through her family.

She is survived by her husband Robert “Jack” Shearin of 64 years, her daughters Rhonda Hubbard, Robin Shearin Griffies (David), and Odessa Shearin-Freeman (Stephen), her grandchildren Katie Griffies, Emily Griffies, Allie Griffies, Madison Hubbard, Joshua Freeman and Zoe Freeman; her special nephew Michael McCraney (Michelle) and Lee McCraney and special cousin Peggy Shearin, and her beloved fur baby Teenie.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 12:00PM at Hockaday Chapel with Reverand Richard Gibson officiating; with a visitation prior to the service starting at 11:00AM at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation Service.
