Ofelia Marks Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Ofelia Marks, a beautiful and beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully went home to be with Jesus on September 27, 2025, at the age of 84.
Born in Ozona, Texas, on November 20, 1940, Ofelia later moved to California before settling in Oregon, where she spent the last four decades of her life surrounded by family, faith, and community. One of thirteen siblings, Ofelia is survived by three brothers and three sisters. Family was her greatest treasure.
Ofelia was the proud mother of five sons - John, Jesse, Joe, Robert and Nick (Robert preceded her in death in 2015), and cherished her daughters-in-law: Esther (Jesse's wife), Diana (Joe's wife), and Kari (Nick's wife). Her heart overflowed with love for her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
She devoted much of her career to supporting school-aged children with special needs, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of many. Ofelia also dedicated her time to volunteering and participating in church groups such as "The Greatest Generation," sharing her kindness, energy, and faith with all who knew her. True to her spirited nature, she loved to eat dessert first and embraced life with joy and faith.
Ofelia will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, playful spirit, and unwavering love for her family and the Lord.
A celebration of her life will be held on October 18th at 11:00 a.m. at Life Church in Aloha, Oregon, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory.
